Immersive, tactile performance in which the audience sits down in the decor and becomes part of a pagan ritual.
For the dance performance/installation Traces, the Icelandic choreographer Rósa Ómarsdóttir studies pagan rituals. She is fascinated by the idea that rituals like witchcraft and animism (the concept on the basis of which stones, plants or other natural phenomena have a soul as well) show a deep respect for nature and consider themselves as a part of that nature.
Ómarsdóttir investigates whether and how anthropomorphic practices (involving human qualities being attributed to animals, plants or objects) may affect their own environment.
