Producer and DJ, 8tm has been working for almost a decade on his beats comfortably in his Parisian suburb bedroom. Patience is the key and 8tm has learnt his lesson right: he waited until 2013 to release his first project « Real Estate » followed by a remix tape of Texas Dirty South mastodons, UGK. His second EP « Reverse Mortgage » was dropped in 2015 giving its own take on what a blend between Southern rap and West coast rap could look like. As producer, he found most of his collaborators in the United States, including Joey Fatts on the track “Do or Die” and Bricc Baby for “In Love with a Hater” (featured on the Nasty Dealer mixtape alongside Brodinski, Sam Tiba and Myd’s productions).
It’s no wonder he then joined Paris-based Bromance Records after giving the Homieland vol.2 compilation its ballade, “Airport”. 8tm’s last EP « Bankrupt » released in 2016 on Bromance Records, keeps the momentum going after his two latest EPs, tinged with sensitive and subdued funk. This 4-track EP finds its way between soft as silk parts and severe breaks, it’s a disruptive journey from bankruptcy to an elusive salvation. As 8tm said, « Bankrupt » was designed as a short film, filled with its up’s and downs, infused with all kinds of sounds, leading you to an uncertain place ». 8tm is now working on his new project. Stay tuned.
