“Sitting is the new smoking”!
It makes sense, our sedentary lifestyles commonly lead us into physical pain. Chairs don't have to be harmful though; in fact there are lots of creative ways to use them as a force of good.
In this workshop you will learn how to sit efficiently and how to translate yoga positions into sitting. Many yoga positions on the floor require a lot of mobility and can put unnecessary pressure on the body. By using chairs, we can make these postures more accessible and safe.
But Chair-Up is not limited to seated yoga! In our workshops we use chairs as a multifunctional tool. Standing positions and sun salutations also get adapted to improve how you move and your day-to-day posture. In the end of the workshop this gets translated into a gentle standing practice that has its origin in a variety of movement and healing arts.
