Touch Music, established in ’82, is more than just any old label: call it an ‘audiovisual operation’, a combination of sound and image. Touch gives wonderful form to what is considered difficult avant-garde. Aside from stars like Fennesz, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Chris Watson, Touch also puts out work by artists such as Eleh, Oren Ambarchi, Soliman Gamil, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Philip Jeck, Phill Niblock, BJNilsen, Yann Novak, Peter Rehberg, Simon Scott, Claire M Singer, Carl Michael von Hausswolff and Jana Winderen.
On this evening in AB Salon we present two important artists from their roster.
◊ Philip Jeck
Jeck has been creating music with record players and electronica ever since the early ’80s. He has made scores for theatre, film and television and has previously worked with a large number of artists, of which Jah Wobble, Steve Lacy, Gavin Bryars and Jaki Liebezeit are the most well-known.
◊ Yann Novak
Novak works from out of LA as an artist, composer and curator. He creates audiovisual installations, performances, architectural interventions, prints, recordings… His work is led by his interest in perception, context, movement and the feelings from the ‘direct experience’. With the aid of sound and light, Novak researches how these intangible materials serve as a catalyst to let our consciousness focus upon our current place and space in time.
Entry is free of charge according to the principle ‘First come, first served.’
